DENVER BUSINESS HEADSHOTS
WHY ME FOR YOUR HEADSHOTS?
“Don’t judge a book by its cover” advises the old adage. But when it comes to photographs, we can’t help but do so. Websites and social media are valuable modern-day tools for bringing exposure to our brands and ourselves. What this means is that headshots and portraits on these platforms are often the first way new customers are meeting us. And you better believe they are drawing conclusions about us based on how those images look.
That’s why it is vitally important for professional business headshots to convey that you are both approachable and confident. Approachability makes it comfortable for customers to contact and do business with you. Confidence shows your customers that you are the right person and the right company for meeting their needs.
Creating professional headshots of people that accomplish those two important goals is what I excel at. Having one’s photo taken is often right up there with a root canal on one’s list of least favorite activities. I get that. So I have developed techniques for connecting with my clients and making them feel at ease. Once relaxed, I provide them with direction to fine tune their expressions and posture to get a result they will feel confident using to represent themselves and their business to prospective clients.
I shoot headshots using the background seen in the portfolio images above. If you have another background in mind or a background used in prior corporate headshots you’d like to match, I am happy to accommodate so please let me know.
I am available to photograph you and your staff headshots at your location.
ON-SITE HEADSHOT PRICING
WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT POLICIES?
I will send you an invoice upon delivery of final headshot photographs. I ask for payment to be completed with 45 days. I accept checks or wire payments only.
IS A MARKETING LICENSE INCLUDED?
All headshot sessions include a signed marketing license to use the photographs for promotional purposes including websites, resumes, postcards, business cards, posters, programs, portfolios, brochures, trade show displays, business stationary, and social networking sites, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram. Please let me know if you have another specific use in mind. Full copyright ownership of the photographs is available for an additional fee. Full copyright is usually only desired if you wish to resell the images.
HOW MUCH SPACE AND TIME DO YOU NEED TO SET UP?
I prefer to arrive 1-1.5 hours in advance of the first scheduled headshot to set up. Large conference rooms with a table that can be moved to the side are best. It helps to have a door that can be closed for privacy during each session.
WHAT RETOUCHING DO YOU DO?
I retouch each final delivered headshot. I do not charge extra for this service because I think it is an essential component of the photographic process. My retouching services include skin tone correction, subtle removal of blemishes, softening circles under the eyes as well as wrinkles, removing fly-away hairs, eye brigtening, and teeth whitening. Please let me know if you have special retouching requests.
DO YOU OFFER HAIR AND MAKEUP SERVICES?
I have a powder kit with me that I use to eliminate shine for each headshot session. That is typically enough for men. For women who desire additional hair and makeup services, I am happy to include a hair and make-up artist for additional $350 for the session.
WHAT WARDROBE TIPS DO YOU HAVE?
MEN: Traditionally a jacket and tie has been the norm for men, but more and more clients are going for a more casual, relaxed look in their headshots. In this case, I suggest at least a shirt with buttons on it, wether a polo or a dress shirt. Choose one with a crisp collar that is not turned up at the points. Avoid white unless covered by a sport coat. If you are wearing a sport coat, try and find one that fits you. That coat that has been sitting in the back of your closet for 15 years might not fit you like it once did.
WOMEN: Simple solid colors (anything other than white) or non-busy patterns are best. I recommend no scarfs or jewelry. I know this can seem counter-intuitive, but in a photograph these items attract the attention of the eye away from the face.
DO YOU HAVE GROOMING RECOMMENDATIONS?
Things that in person go mostly unnoticed in person tend to stand out in a headshot photograph and distract from your face. Check your nose, ears, and eyebrows for renegade hairs and trim them. If you haven’t had a haircut in while, I recommend scheduling one within a couple days of your headshot session.
WHAT IS YOUR HEADSHOT PROCESS?
My goal for each headshot is to get an expression that conveys confidence and approachability. I help coach you along the way toward that goal with direction on what to do with your body and facial features. I shoot tethered to a computer so we can look at the results together instantly and adjust along the way. Most people who walk in have not been looking forward to getting their photograph taken. Usually this is because they have had unsatisfactory results in the past. With my sessions I make sure you are happy with the results before leaving the room.
Afterward, I narrow down our session to the best 3-5 images per person and include those in an online proofing gallery that I send to my point of contact. This gives you a chance to spend time with and review the best selections and pick your favorite image. Once I receive all selections I do post-processing and retouching and then send the final images to my point of contact.
DO YOU OFFER RUSH SERVICES?
Yes. I can deliver to you final headshot photographs with a quicker turnaround time for an additional $50 per image.
HOW SOON CAN WE GET OUR PROOFS?
I will deliver to you an online proofing gallery of your headshot session within five business days. Saturday and Sunday do not count as business days.
