The Devos Institute of Arts Management (based in my old haunt, Washington, DC) was back in Denver last week for their third conference with leaders from Denver arts organizations. I photographed their previous two events and was happy be brought back for the third event.
Each event has been held a different venue. The first was at the Space Gallery and the second was at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The latter had excellent and creative lighting and archeticture and was a real treat to shoot in. This time the meeting took place in a conference room at the Denver Museum. It was a tougher location to shoot in because of the tan walls and poor lighting design, but those challenges usually come with the territory and I always try my best to work with them. Also per usual, my focus is on the speakers, yes, but more importantly on the attendees and emotional interactions and connections between them. If you are an organization wanting to attract attendees to your conference, these are the types of images you should be using to market your conference. People come for the speakers and topics, but they leave with the memories of new friends and experiences.
Below are some of my favorite images from the meeting.
